In this presentation, you will gain an understanding of what Silverlight is and how it can be used in web applications today. You will get an exposure of its history and how Silverlight tools have matured over the years and some of the considerations that you need to take into account when you are thinking of using Silverlight for your own projects. You will see the major tools used to create Silverlight applications and how they work together. And, finally, you will see how to deploy Silverlight to your SharePoint 2010 installation (and maybe 2007 if there is interest). Finally, you will see how Silverlight is used in SharePoint 2010 to enhance its perceived value to its users.

 

 

 

About the Presenter:

Jacob J. Sanford is a senior consultant for Evolute Consolidated Holdings, Inc. based out of Bellevue Washington (he telecommutes from his home in Tallahassee, FL), where he primarily focuses on SharePoint and related technologies; mostly Reporting Services and Silverlight. He has written (or co-authored) 3 books and is currently writing his fourth book; this on one SharePoint 2010 Design. He founded the Tallahassee SharePoint Experts Exchange for Developers (SPEED) in February 2008 and often speaks at its meetings (and other regional events).
